Sports Pupil Premium Funding
At Heartsease Primary Academy, we aim to provide opportunities to enhance and enrich children’s PE provision and allow opportunities to participate in sporting challenges and competitions. We try hard to ensure that children receive two hours of quality PE teaching, 1 hour with their class teacher and 1 hour with our PE instructors. We also have an additional 20 minute swimming lesson for children across Key Stage 1 and 2.
From September 2013 each school received extra sports funding through Sports Pupil Premium. In our school this amounted to around £10,000. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

The Norfolk School Games are back!
It is the largest school sport event to be held in Norfolk and our school is taking part this year.
The Games are part of the national School Games initiative which aims to inspire more young people to take part in competitive school sport. The Norfolk School Games is organised by Active Norfolk and the eight School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) in the county.
They have a variety of sporting events and opportunities for us to take part in this year starting with the winter games in February. These include, for primary schools: cross country, kwik cricket, swimming, gymnastics and mini-tennis.
