If you were not offered a place for Heartsease Primary Academy and wish to appeal this decision, simply contact our Attendance and Admissions Officer who will be able to support you with this simple process.

You can contact Kara by:

Calling: 01603 343 893

Emailing: kara.stock@thehearteducationtrust.co.uk

You will need to complete an appeal form which you will need to send back to us by no later than the middle of May. Simply contact us for a copy of this.

What happens next?

After you’ve sent us your appeal form, you will be invited to an appeal hearing in June or July each year with the Norfolk County Council admissions teams.

They will conduct the hearing:

  • By video call using Microsoft Teams,
  • By phone, or
  • Using written submissions

They will tell you how and when your appeal will be heard at least two weeks before the hearing takes place. We can support you with this if you wish.

You should hear the following day if your appeal has been successful.

If it hasn’t been successful, your next step would be to complain to the Local Government Ombudsman.

You can find out how to complain to the Local Government Ombudsman here.

In-year transfers

If you join another school, but wish to transfer to us at a later date, you will need to complete an ‘in-year’ transfer application form and return this to Norfolk County Council.

You can find out more about this process on our dedicated in-year transfer page.
