SRB

The Specialist Resource Base (SRD) is part of Heartsease Primary School and receives children from Norwich and North Norfolk who have been through a process of assessment.

It is staffed by two part-time teachers, two speech and language therapists and two full time teaching assistant. Children attending the centre have severe speech and language and/or communication difficulties. The centre offers placements for 10 children between 4 and 8 years old in 2 classes. Placement in class is usually determined by the age of the children. All the children integrate into the main school for PE, Music and Drama and share in the daily life of Heartsease Primary School – playtimes, lunchtimes, assemblies etc. Integration may also take place at other times dependent on each child’s specific educational needs and abilities.
