Our academy is a happy, calm and exciting place to learn, where I know that the children will continue to make us proud of their responsible, positive and caring attitudes.

Our most recent Ofsted Report (May 2016) reported that this is an outstanding school, where children make accelerated progress.

Our education

Parents

At Heartsease Primary Academy, we believe that in order to provide a successful education for every individual child we must work in partnership with parents.

We have high expectations of ourselves, our children and our parents and carers. Together, we develop all areas of academy life, with clear expectations from all sides.

Welcome Dear Parents and Carers, It has been a brilliant start to the term with the children well engaged with their learning. As you know we have launched our steps to success last week because we wanted to find sustainable ways to recognise and reward your children for displaying the correct attitudes to learning. The children are fully enjoying the rewards and it is having a positive impact on the school as a whole. Less and less children are spending time out of class because they are focused on demonstrating our expected attitudes to learning. This is good news because it now means that as a school we can accelerate our programme to raise standards. Our expected attitudes to learning are Passionate Learners Resilient and will overcome challenges Confident Aspire to be great leaders in our country Creative Thinkers and problem solvers Committed to being the best we can be Curious Children Responsible citizens Please talk these through with your children and reinforce our message that we want everyone to climb the steps to success! Thank you for your continued support. Mr N Campbell

Welcome Dear Parents and Carers, It has been an excellent 1/2 term with all the children working very hard in school. I am pleased that over this half term our atrium gallery is beginning to take shape with a showcase of art projects from across the year groups. Mr Wellard has been working with the students to create a "to scale" solar system in the middle of the library area, and the children are adding the different facts that we want everyone to learn. Year 6 mock SATS went really well, each day starting with breakfast, relaxation and then assessments. Please look out for parents evening for year 6 soon after the Easter Break. We as a staff have also spent our time reviewing our behaviour policy so that it celebrates and rewards children for doing well in school and to find a way to be more restorative. This is something we will be refining on the training day and I will share with you in full after the Easter break. The friends of the school had yet another successful round of discos and there are plans a foot to try and host summer fete etc but more parental support is required. There will be a meeting that I would like you to attend to support the friends coming up after Easter so please look out for this as the funds they raise have really enhanced the curriculum provision this year already. Thank you for your continued support. Mr N Campbell

Welcome Dear Parents and Carers, It has been another busy week and the children continue to work hard. This week we celebrated World Book Day, it was lovely to see so many children dressed up as their favourite book character, there were some amazing costumes! Next week the children start their termly check in tests, these will enable our teachers to see what they need to work on with the children. Thank you for your continued support. Mr N Campbell
